The Disputes Tribunal is an inexpensive and informal way of dealing with disputes. It exists to help people settle their disputes without the expense of going to Court and having a lawyer represent you. In the Disputes Tribunal you represent yourself.
Going to the Disputes Tribunal for the first time can be daunting. We can help you by assisting you in filling in the Disputes Tribunal claim form, organizing your arguments and evidence for the hearing date,
informing you on how the Disputes Tribunal works and how the hearing is run by the Referee.
Example:
Henry sold his car on TradeMe to Debbie for $1000. They agreed that Debbie would pay half now and pick up the car and pay the other half in two weeks, when she gets paid. Debbie paid Henry
$500 and they transferred the car into her name the same day. But that was 5 weeks ago and Debbie still hasn’t paid the other $500. Henry has been trying to get hold of her for 3 weeks and she won’t return his calls.
