Q: Do we have to pay for your services?
A: No. We are a free and confidential service.

Q: Can anyone use the Community Law services?
A: We provide free information to anyone. If you require ongoing advice/assistance we do have to go through an Eligibility Assessment (can’t afford a lawyer or not eligible for legal aid). We are here to help individuals but not profit making businesses.

Q: Do you have a lawyer?
A: Yes. We have a solicitor on staff.

Q: Where do you get your funding from?
A: We are a non-government organisation and receive the majority of our funding from the Legal Services Agency

Q: What can’t Community Law do?
A: We cannot represent you in Court and if you are eligible for legal aid we have to refer you to a lawyer that is a legal aid provider. Nor can do conveyancing, wills or trusts.

Q: I have been declined legal aid, can you still help me?
A: Yes, we can still help you but if it does require representation in Court we will have to refer you to a lawyer

Q: What is the Community Law Trust?
A: We are a charitable trust that is funded by the Legal Services Agency. We have a Board of Trustees that oversees the organisation and a manager that runs the daily operations of the trust.

Q: Is the Law Related Education open to everyone?
A: Yes. We can also hold special topic seminars on request.
